In the heart of the East Side of Dayton sits Linden Heights, an urban community growing through homes, schools, churchs, parks, and gardens. "The Heights" built as a refuge from the low plains following the Great Dayton Flood of 1913, now serves as refuge from the stresses of modern living. Shady, tree-lined streets are filled with classic single-family homes of different architural styles. The quality craftsmanshift of yesteryear is evident through the unique features that bring distinct character to each individual home. Well maintained properties and attention to landscape show the care the neighbors have for the community. |

Volunteers are essential to the work of East End Community Services. Neighborhood residents volunteer at various projects through out the year, helping with the Appalachian Festival, performing as part of the Latino Dance Troupe Sol Azteca, painting houses or making meals for families. The youth volunteer at festivals, help at agencies like the Battered Women's Projects or do projects with the seniors at Twin Towers Place. East End is truly fortunate to have volunteers from the community that help with tutoring, assist with neighborhood beautification projects and other endeavors. Our volunteers include students and other individuals from all walks of life. To volunteer for East End Community Services, visit this website for more information. |
